Quick introduction to Admin Control Center

Sentinel Admin Control Center (ACC) web application is used to control licenses on local and network servers, as well as diagnose problems associated with licensing.

Here you will find a general overview of the application sufficient to perform basic tasks (like viewing information on all license key's features or usage restrictions).

Opening ACC

To open the application, use a web-browser. The application is available only when Sentinel LDK Run-time Environment is installed (the corresponding process, hasplms.exe, must be active). To access the application, go to http://127.0.0.1:1947/ or http://127.0.0.1:1947/_int_/devices.html.

Viewing available license keys

To identify which license keys are currently present on the network, go to the Sentinel Keys tab.

1. Local value means that this specific key is located on the local machine. Otherwise the field contains the name of the remote machine where the key is installed.

2. Key type column specifies whether the key is Sentinel HL or Sentinel SL. HL keys also have their models displayed.

3. Sessions column specifies the number of protected application components that are currently enabled by one or more Features available in the key.

4. Actions column contains buttons to access additional license key information/options. The C2V button leads to the page where you can create a .c2v file for the key.

Tip: if you are not sure which list entry relates to a specific Sentinel HL key, click the Blink on button and identify the key on which the LED is blinking.

Viewing available Products

To find out which products are available on the accessible Sentinel License Manager-s on the network, go to the Products tab.

Click the Features button to find out which functionality is enabled by a specific key.

Sentinel License Manager is a significant component of the Sentinel LDK solution. It functions on the machines where protected applications execute and license keys are installed. It provides the protected applications with all necessary information on available local and remote licenses, as well as manages access to those licenses.

For license protection of its products, VIT uses the Admin License Manager, which is the type of Sentinel License Manager. This provides our users with the graphical interface represented by ACC. To find out how Sentinel License Manager works in detail, see the Sentinel LDK documentation.

Viewing available Features

To view all the Features available within accessible Products and the current activities related to each of them, go to the Features tab.

1. Unique ID and name of the Product to which the Feature belongs. Defined by vendor.

2. Unique Feature ID and name. A “lock” icon indicates that the Feature is locked either to a Sentinel HL key or to the machine on which a Sentinel SL resides.

3.

  • Loc — access to the Feature is permitted from local machine.

  • Display — access to the Feature is permitted from remote applications.

4. Any restrictions of a specific Feature, e.g. duration of a trial period: Disabled (the Feature is in a cloned Product), Perpetual, Expired.

5. The Sessions button opens the list with all the local or remote clients which are using the specific Feature to enable a certain protected functionality unit.
